A 2.8 hour flight from Rio de Janiero to Salvador. After the hour long drive to the airport, another hour or two getting out of the airport, a three hour flight, and two hours (at least) to get fuel, that's all we did today.

Final resting spot at Rio International. They made us start up and move. Well, they made us argue for five hours, THEN start up and move, THEN wait another three hours. THEN we still didn't have all the paperwork done, and Thierry had to come back the next day for ANOTHER five hours.

Now calling for clearance. Brazil has been rather slow, and we very quickly learned to get everything cleared up (like getting clearance to take off) BEFORE starting the engine.

Just clouds. But, look carefully, there is a very thin layer above the fluffy ones.

Yikes! A little high! Not to worry, the threshold was moved 1/3 of the way down the runway.

Poor little Cirrus N173CT, buried in a Boeing 737 graveyard. Why are there three VASP 737's rusting here?
