...where we flew to Guatemala City, Guatemala, and took a bus to Chichicastenago, Guatemala.

What? Photos of fire? Where's the trip?

The plan, as I remember it, was for everyone to leave Veracruz, fly to Guatemala City, and get on a bus at 2pm. For the most part, everyone was in Guatemala City by 1pm.

We arranged with the flying club to have all the necessary officials present so we could check in, close flight plans, etc, in one simple five minute step.

Too bad it didn't work.

The bus left at 3pm. And arrived in Chichicastenango at around 8pm. Heck, we even had to walk a couple blocks because the bus got stuck between a couple of buildings. I should say "they" had to walk a couple of blocks, because I was volunteered to ride with the luggage (truth be told, I volunteered to clean out the bus, since nearly everyone left their camera bags and misc small stuff in the bus). I mention this, only because I'm in a truck with four guys that I don't know, going somewhere I don't know, with luggage for 50 people. I guess that one way streets made the "couple blocks" into about eight. And I can count.

It was nice to have a warm fire.
