2010-07-01 -- Bali to Brunei

Back across the equator, and this time we're gonna get a picture of it.

We're staying at the Empire Hotel and Country Club. I'll save my conclusions for later.

N850SJ in Bali, in the morning. Carefully note the tail decoration (no, not a trick, just look at it and remember it).

Waiting for the runway to clear.

Hmmm, why are we intersecting our flight path?

Wow, what a buildup! Glad we're not flying over there. Somewhere on the southern coast of Indonesia.

Two hundred and sixty one feet from the equator! Not that impressive, somewhere around two and a half seconds of latitude. If we had the display up, we'd have gotten 00 (degrees) 00.02', the coords shown in the upper right corner are those of the user-created waypoint EQATOR.

Potentially, Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque.

Landing.

Three Royal Brunei Boeing 767's. Sadly, I cannot make out the tail numbers.

Rotal Brunei Boeing 767, tail number V8-RBF.

Quiz: What changed?

After the shortish (2.5 hours?) flight, Dad wasn't quite ready to relax at the hotel pool, so he started putting on the journey decals that we were supposed to have done in Quebec at the start of the trip, but, well, long story. Suffice to say this was the first place we were both able to and willing to put decals on.
